After the fires in Kremenchuk and Kryukov in 1848, the provincial government is taking a number of measures to arrange fire brigades for the increased staff. The new building of the fire brigade in Kremenchuk was located at the corner of Kievskaya (now Pobeda) and Birzhevaya streets, facing the Kievskaya street and played an important role in the formation of the silhouette and panorama of the city.
