On September 28, 1973, a grand opening took place on the site of one of the 6 concentration camps of the memorial “Forever Alive” with an Eternal Flame in memory of those who died in Nazi concentration camps (about 97 thousand people died). Sculptor M. F. Ovsyankin. Front-line soldier, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR named after T.G. Shevchenko.
