In the Soviet Union, post offices were organized in the most important centers of the country. They carried out the work of the postal service on the territory of the city, leadership and control over the subordinate post offices. At the same time, each post office was entrusted with the independent fulfillment of all production functions to provide the population, enterprises, institutions and organizations with postal and electrical communication services.
