Collections of the German film magazine Die Deutsche Wochenschau The tasks of the German Propaganda Ministry were to educate people in the spirit of the National Socialist New Order. The same goal was set before the Imperial Chamber of Cinema. The release of documentaries and newsreels was carried out by a special division of the UFA concern (UFA). Until 1939 there were five film magazines; with the outbreak of war, they were replaced by the German Weekly Review (Die Deutsche Wochenschau). 2,000 copies were sent out weekly, plus copies in foreign languages to allies, neutral countries, occupied territories, and POW camps. Although the newsreels are not completely preserved, to this day they represent a significant part of the newsreels from the time of the 3rd Reich. Digitally processed from original 35mm film. No translation – the original voice of the German announcer, commenting on current events, original sound effects and music.
