Human memory is a strange thing. You can forget what happened yesterday, but it is wonderful to remember events that are half a century old. Childhood memories and impressions are just that vivid. I will tell you about my childhood associated with the city of Kremenchuk and its surroundings.
I was born in the village of Potoky, Kremenchuk district, which stands on the banks of the Psla River. This is where my parents, Kobzar Volodymyr Mefodiyovych and Kobzar Olha Petrovna (maiden name Lymar) came from. They got married in 1948, and I was born in 1949. My parents worked at the Kryukiv wagon factory, so soon they gave us a room (very damp and gloomy) in a communal apartment in the so-called “Zhildomy” in Kryukiv on K.Libknekhta St.
