In 1973, a new star appeared on the musical horizon of Poltava region – the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Rovesnyk”, created by musician Viktor Korobov. The first members of the group were schoolchildren and students of technical schools, so the name of the collective justified itself. The repertoire of the ensemble mainly included covers of songs by foreign and Soviet performers.
Gradually, the skill of the musicians grew, original compositions and arrangements of famous songs appeared. 1976 – “Rovesnyk” – laureate of the First All-Union Festival of Folk Art. 1978 – Viktor Korobov writes the rock opera “Variant from Chess”, which was performed with great success on the stage of the State Drama Theater. In 1979. the composition of the ensemble is strengthened by a brass band, which allowed the leader to instrumentalize many works in the style of the group “Chicago” (USA), but at the same time leaving the originality and character of the songs. 1980. – 1st place at the Regional Review-Competition of VIA. (Lubny). In April of this year, the team goes as part of the creative delegation of the Poltava region to Poland. The concerts of “Rovesnyk” were warmly received by the Polish audience. In October 1980. by the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Culture of the Ukrainian SSR, the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Rovesnyk” was awarded the honorary title “People’s”. 1981-1983. – concerts around the republic, recordings on Ukrteleradio, participation in the TV program “Sunny Clarinets”.
The creative achievements and successes of the folk VIA “Rovesnyk” were, of course, associated with the great work carried out by Viktor Korobov. This is organizational activity, arrangement, composition of his own works, work with gifted musicians and performers. In total, over the years of the band’s existence, their number was 25. Here we list the musicians and vocalists of the first and last compositions. At the same time, we express our warm gratitude to the remaining participants.

1974-1976. New performers arrived: Nikolay Gishayev (Russia) – drums, Vladimir Lantsman – vocals, Yuriy Bulanov – bass guitar, Oleg Zimarev – vocals.
1979-1983. The last line-up: Alexey Anchugov, Boris Sidelnikov – guitar Alexander Kozlov – bass guitar, Mykola Gishayev – drums, Alexander Lobov – trumpet, Mykola Seleznyov – trombone, Yuriy Mizyak – saxophone, flute. Leader – Viktor Korobov, Natalia Neilo – vocals, Vitaliy Bezdilny – vocals, Konstantin Lavrenko – vocals, Alexander Mosienko – vocals, Sound engineers: Alexander Sevastyanov, Leonid Sorokin (Poltava).
In 2002, six songs were restored and digitized by sound engineer Alexander Kostenko, which were included in the album “On the Waves of Your Memory”. We offer them to your attention. Work is underway on the restoration of the songs of “Rovesnyk” from different years, which will also please you, conveying the feelings and moods of the “seventies”, the character and worldview of the Kremenchuk youth of the 70s.
