Kremenchuk, September 30, 1943; an aerial shot taken from a German aircraft. In the center of the frame is the city prison, located at the intersection of B. Khmelnytsky Street and 1905-ho Roku Street. Below it, the ruins of what is now the Flight College are visible; further down, to the right, stands the printing house building, which has survived to this day. On the right side of the frame, one can see a school on Krasin Street (Troitska Street)—later known as School No. 13. On the left, the Germans labeled the “Reyivskyi” backwater (inlet) as “Winterhafen” (winter harbor). This is a fragment of a photograph from a report on the activities of the Chief of the Engineering Service of the German 8th Army. Source: www.bundesarchiv.de.
