The history of Kremenchuk Gymnasium No. 16 officially began in 1974, when the newly built institution opened its doors to students for the first time. However, preparations for establishing the school in the Pershyi Zanasyp neighborhood had been underway for several years.
Start of construction: Construction of the new school in Kremenchuk began in 1972. The site was located near what was then Marshal Govorov Street (now Viacheslav Chornovil Street) and Viiskovyi Lane.
Funding and construction: The Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works (KVBZ) served as the primary sponsor and client for the project. The project was initiated by Housing Construction Combine No. 3, while the construction of the four-story building was completed by the “Zhytlobud” Construction and Installation Administration.
Opening of the institution: Construction work was completed in April 1974, and the school welcomed its first students on September 1, 1974.
