However, few people know that the theoretical foundation for everything we call the “digital world” today was laid by an outstanding scientist whose family comes directly from Kremenchuk. Leonard Kleinrock is one of the main pioneers of the global network, the son of emigrants from the Poltava region.
Leonard Kleinrock was born on June 13, 1934 in New York, at the height of the Great Depression. However, the history of his family began across the ocean – on the banks of the Dnieper. The father of the future inventor, Edward Kleinrock, and his mother Sarah were born, raised and spent their youth in the city of Kremenchuk.
