Photos taken from the 125-apartment building in June-July 1943 (now building #28/40 on Sobornaya Street). The top photo was taken from the balcony of a third-floor apartment overlooking the courtyard. The bottom photo was probably taken from the same third-floor apartment, showing Lenin Street, the intersection with Shevchenko Street, a little further on the Coliseum cinema, and the Assumption Cathedral in the distance. The two-story building on the right (with the dome) was located on the site of today’s Mega Shopping Center.
