International Youth Festival, held in 1915-1945. Established by the decision of the Bern International Socialist Youth Conference in April on Easter 1915 in order to mobilize young people to fight for peace, against the imperialist war. It was first held on October 3, 1915 in Switzerland, the Netherlands, the USA, Italy, Romania and a number of other countries. In 1916–31, it was celebrated on the first Sunday of September, and from 1932, on the proposal of some sections of the Communist Youth International, on September 1.
