View from an airplane of the Kryukiv Railway Bridge and the left bank of the Dnieper (where the central beach is located today), in the background – the burning Kremenchuk, September 1943. At the bottom of the photo you can see the structures of two new bridge spans, which the Germans planned to install instead of the German spans, mounted in 1941, during the restoration of the bridge. As you can see, the new spans were assembled on a wooden platform, right next to the bridge, but the Germans did not have time to mount them before the retreat.
