The Pushkin folk audience appeared in Kremenchuk at the end of the 19th century. It housed the city people’s library, theatrical performances, concerts, and art exhibitions were held. Academician D. Yavornitsky, writer V. Sologub gave lectures here, famous pianists A. Rubinstein and S. Rachmaninov, the folk orchestra of balalaika players under the direction of V. Andreev played.
The auditorium building was opposite the building of the former Catholic church (now St. Nicholas Church)
The popular audience suffered greatly during the Second World War, the ruins of the audience stood in ruins for a long time, until a garment factory was built in their place.
