An excerpt from the article “German crossings near the city of Kremenchuk”

In 1942, the Germans began building a major road bridge, about half a kilometer downstream from the railway. The bridge was also wooden but mounted on reinforced concrete piers. Wooden piles were driven into the ground, wooden formwork was made around them, and then everything was poured with concrete. The bridge was built by prisoners of war from the Kremenchuk camps.
