In Kremenchug, the level of the Dnieper, reaching 9 arshin (about 6.5 meters), stopped. The population was waiting for the water to invade the city from minute to minute. The erected structures retained enormous water pressure. In many dangerous points, day and night, work was being done to strengthen the barriers. The members of the flood control committee were on duty. From Kiev received information about a significant decrease in the Dnieper. This information reassured the population a little.
