Born on March 28, 1913 in the city of Shushi, Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region (now Artsakh) in the family of an employee. Armenian. Member of the CPSU since 1932. He graduated from the 7th grade, the aviation school of the Civil Air Fleet in 1935. He worked as an instructor pilot in the Civil Air Fleet.
In the Navy since June 1941 and since that time he has been participating in the battles of the Great Patriotic War.
In August 1941, as part of the 46th squadron of Il-2 attack aircraft of the Black Sea Fleet, while relocating from Vornezh to the Black Sea Fleet, he participated for several days in attacking enemy columns moving towards the crossing in the Kryukov area (see the article, The riddle of pilots Vinogradov and Evseev is revealed, in the section ,, Aviation in the defense of Kremenchug in 1941). Combat sorties were carried out from the Kremenchug and Poltava airfields.
Flight commander of the 57th Assault Aviation Regiment (8th Babr, Air Force of the Baltic Fleet), junior lieutenant. By September 1942, he made 58 sorties, inflicting great damage on the enemy in manpower and equipment.

The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on 10/23/42. Commander of the 47th Assault Aviation Regiment (11th Squad, Air Force of the Baltic Fleet), lieutenant colonel. By August 1944, he made 239 sorties. His regiment sank over 50 enemy ships and vessels, shot down 13 enemy aircraft in air battles. Killed in aerial combat on 12/14/1944. Posthumously awarded the second Gold Star medal on 6/3/45. Awarded 2 Orders of Lenin, 3 Orders of the Red Banner. His name was given to a fishing trawler. The bronze bust was installed in Yerevan.
