The Trade Building was built according to the project of the Ukrainian branch of “Soyuzdiprotorg” in the period 1954-1960, on the site of the City Duma building destroyed during the Second World War.
In the left wing, on the first floor, there was a central deli, opened in May 1961, on the right, on the first floor, there was a cafe, on the second – the restaurant “Ukraine”. In the center, the first and second floors were occupied by a department store.
