Construction of the Ostland Road Bridge by the Germans, a little further downstream from the Kryukiv Railway Bridge, Kremenchuk, September 1941. In the background of the photo, the left bank of the Dnieper is visible, in the area of the modern Santorini Yacht Club. Part of the Ostland Bridge from the Kremenchuk bank to the middle of the Dnieper riverbed was built by the Germans on wooden supports, the other part of the bridge, to the Kryukiv bank, was mounted on captured Soviet barges. Construction of the Ostland Bridge lasted from September 12 to 28, 1941.
